About African Grey Parrots

Physical Characteristics

- Plumage: Generally grey with a lighter face, and a short, red tail in the Congo subspecies or maroon tail in the Timneh subspecies.
- Beak: Strong, black, and curved.
Lifespan
African Grey Parrots can live 40 to 60 years in captivity, with some living even longer with proper care.
Habitat and Distribution
- Natural Habitat: They thrive in dense forests, especially in areas near water sources. They are also found in savannahs and open woodlands.
- Geographic Range: West and Central Africa, particularly in countries like Angola, Cameroon, Congo, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Kenya, Uganda, and others.
